Barry Plouse

I am a 48 year olds, I have been an quadriplegic since 1983 from a fall off a bed of a pickup truck. I have been hunting since I was able to follow my father through the fields and snow of Cambria County. After my accident my brother Cecil has kept me active with hunting, he has been my set up and retriever guy.

I recently had the opportunity to hunt with the Whitetail Management Associates of Greater Pittsburgh on one of their handicap sponsored hunts. These volunteers donated their day and efforts to me which in turn allowed me harvest my first and largest Pennsylvania buck with my crossbow. I am grateful for the opportunity for the hunt and I appreciate the men that made this possible. I was able to bring and mentor my 14 year old niece to experience the hunt.

The men of Whitetail Management Associates of Greater Pittsburgh helped me feel able-bodied for the day while hunting. Thank you!

We're glad you enjoyed your day afield with us Barry, we had a great time with you!  Congratulations on a great buck!

Joe McCluskey & All of Whitetail Management,

We wanted you to know that both you and Whitetail Management (WMA) have given our son Zachary a tremendous gift. He has always wanted to be like everyone else, but due to his Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy that has not happened for most of his life. However, the opportunity for him to be able to deer hunt has given him a sense of unity with all of you and made him feel very proud. It is just such a tremendous accomplishment for him.

Honestly we never thought something like this could ever happen for him; not only harvesting a buck and two doe last year, but a buck and a doe again this year. It is so incredible with all of his physical limitations that you and WMA could facilitate such a thing, but it just shows what a wonderful an organization it is.

Please know how important you all are to him and that you all have made his life that much better because of what you have done for him. Also, how much we appreciate how giving and caring you all are for spending so much time and effort in helping him with his hunts. We will never be able to thank you all enough, but we hope just the smile on his face and the joy you have experienced with him makes you feel as proud as he is…because you should be proud.

THANK SO MUCH!
